The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting proposals from Federally-recognized Indian tribes and tribal consortia. This grant is for supporting Tribal educational outreach and conducting a baseline assessment of children’s existing and potential exposure to lead-based paint and related hazards. Funding is available for lead-based paint educational initiatives and comprehensive baseline assessments. Eligible activities include blood-lead screening, developing innovative approaches to identify or reduce lead poisoning, conducting lead-based paint inspections and risk assessments, providing lead-based paint training, and compiling data. Additionally, support for developing partnerships and travel related to these efforts is included. The goal is to address lead poisoning risks and enhance protective measures within Tribal communities.
