The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is offering the Biomedical and Behavioral Research Innovations to Ensure Equity (BRITE) grant. This department is offering this grant to significantly increase the diversity of the pool of researchers involved in health equity studies related to NICHD’s mission areas. This grant is for the purpose of funding innovative biomedical and behavioral research that addresses critical health disparities in maternal and child health. Key focus areas include infant mortality, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), child, adolescent, and adult obesity, uterine fibroids, pediatric and maternal HIV/AIDS prevention, violence prevention, health literacy, and effective outreach and information dissemination. The overall goal is to foster a more inclusive research community dedicated to achieving health equity.
