The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is offering this grant to establish the Consortium for Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) Leadership Center. This grant is for advancing prevention, management, and knowledge of various food allergies. The Leadership Center (LC) will define CoFAR’s overall research strategy, designing and overseeing cutting-edge clinical trials and studies. Efforts will focus on the origins and pathophysiology of IgE-mediated food allergy, Alpha-Gal Syndrome, Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome, and Eosinophilic Esophagitis. The CoFAR-LC will collaborate with Clinical Research Centers to select and implement network-wide trials, with CRCs handling execution.
