This grant is for advancing electromagnetic metamaterial technologies. The primary objective is to encourage a robust flow of supplementary and complementary solutions that enhance existing capabilities or introduce novel applications. This includes developing active electronic matching networks, frequency selective structures, and periodic structures with engineered dispersion, such as photonic band-gap materials and acoustic metamaterials. Innovative advancements in using metamaterials or complementary technologies are highly desired, particularly those that can leverage commercial economies of scale. The key areas of focus for this initiative are Radio Frequency (RF), Optical, Acoustic, and Bio-Related Metamaterials. Only white papers are being requested at this time for consideration.
