This grant, offered by the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA), provides approximately $12.1 million for the Workforce Data Quality Initiative (WDQI). State Workforce Agencies (SWAs) not previously funded can apply for up to $1 million over 36 months. The purpose is to enable SWAs to develop and utilize state workforce longitudinal administrative data systems. These systems will integrate information on training, employment services, and unemployment insurance, linked at the individual level. The goal is to enhance program evaluation and provide better information for workforce system stakeholders. Furthermore, these systems must connect with the U.S. Department of Education’s Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) databases, allowing for the design, development, or improvement of state workforce data infrastructure.

Eligible applicants for this solicitation are those SWAs within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands that were not recipients of a round one WDQI grant (as a result of solicitation SGA/DFA PY 09-10).
