The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is offering this grant to develop and deliver specialized training aimed at combating human trafficking on tribal lands. The program seeks to equip federally-recognized Indian tribes and their respective law enforcement and criminal justice authorities (tribal, state, and federal) with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively identify and rescue victims of human trafficking. This new curriculum will build upon BJA’s successful prior training initiatives, including those for advanced investigations, state judges, and prosecutors. A single cooperative agreement, valued at up to $305,000, is expected to be awarded to support the comprehensive development of this critical training and facilitate up to three pilot programs, enhancing anti-trafficking efforts nationwide.
