Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: This project is to monitor Atlantic White Cedar (AWC) regeneration in 750 acres of salvage-logged, burned stands using height size classes: 0-0.5′; 0.5-1′, 1-1.5′; 1.5-2′, etc. Set up a grid on each AWC unit and monitor one plot per 5 acres (minimum 150 plots). Analyze data and provide report including numbers of seedlings per size class at each point, GPS coordinates of each point (sub-meter not necessary) and map showing seedling distribution. Plot centers will be marked and labeled with orange-glow painted PVC pipe posts of no less than three feet tall above ground (to be provided by the Refuge staff). See attached link to view map.
