This grant, offered by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Montana/Dakota, is designed to support crucial fuels management and community fire assistance initiatives. Its primary purpose is to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires across the Montana and Dakota regions, safeguarding both natural resources and local communities. Activities funded by this program typically include hazardous fuels reduction, forest thinning, prescribed burns, and promoting fire-adapted communities through education and planning. The aim is to create resilient landscapes and improve the safety of areas prone to wildland fires. This funding empowers local efforts to proactively manage vegetation, enhance ecosystem health, and build capacity for fire preparedness and response. The application period for this program concludes on May 05, 2023.
