The Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science is inviting applications for basic research. This grant aims to tackle increasingly complex grand challenges within DOE’s mission areas of energy, environment, and security from a mathematical perspective. It seeks proposals that develop new, integrated, and iterative processes across multiple mathematical disciplines. The purpose is to holistically address mathematics for complex DOE-relevant systems to advance scientific discovery, design, optimization, and risk assessment. This will be achieved through the establishment of Mathematical Multifaceted Integrated Capability Centers (MMICCs), fostering a comprehensive approach to critical departmental objectives.
