The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering this grant through its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program to establish Clean Air Research Centers. This grant is for supporting integrated, multidisciplinary research on the health effects of exposure to particulate matter (PM), ozone, and other air pollutants, both individually and in multipollutant atmospheres. Priority areas include explaining regional and temporal differences in air pollution risk, determining pollutant origins and transformations, defining exposure/concentration-response relationships, assessing susceptibility, and understanding PM effects within a multipollutant context. The EPA seeks proposals that advance understanding of air pollution and its impact on human health.
