The USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS), through its Food Assistance and Nutrition Research Program (FANRP), is re-offering the Research Innovation and Development Grants in Economics (RIDGE) Program. This grant is designed to significantly enhance food and nutrition assistance research by providing a renewed focus on its economic dimensions. It actively seeks to stimulate new and innovative research on critical domestic food and nutrition assistance issues. A key objective is to broaden the network of social scientists collaborating to expand understanding of the economic, nutrition, and health outcomes resulting from participation in USDA’s food assistance programs, alongside addressing implementation and delivery challenges. This recompetition also aims for cost savings by consolidating RIDGE Centers from five to two institutions.
