Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: Funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Klamath Falls Fish and Wildlife Office to implement the Threemile Fish Barrier Installation Project. In 2007, a brook trout passage barrier was installed in Threemile Creek on private property downstream of the USDA Forest Service boundary. This project proposes to construct an additional fish passage barrier to reduce the possibility of brook trout reinvasion of upper Threemile Creek in the event the existing fish passage barrier fails. Additionally, this project will improve the effectiveness of the existing fish barrier, as recommended by the USFWS Region 1/8 fish passage engineer. Installation of a an additional brook trout passage barrier and improving the existing barrier is the catalyst that will allow several other bull trout recovery actions to occur in Threemile Creek. Substantial involvement by the Service includes offering technical assistance and working cooperatively with the Recipient.
