The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is offering this grant to ensure comprehensive social and supportive services for older refugees, specifically those aged 60 and above, and other ORR-eligible populations. This grant is for organizations responsible for refugee programs to enhance independent living and community integration for older refugees. Applicants are expected to establish strong partnerships with State and Area Agencies on Aging to connect older refugees with mainstream services. Funding will also support providing direct services to unserved older refugees and developing or linking them to naturalization services. Special attention should be given to newly-arrived older refugees and those at risk of losing federal benefits like Supplemental Security Income, ensuring their continued well-being and stability.
