This grant, offered by the 1890 COEs Program, aims to provide continued support for Centers of Excellence (COEs) hosted by 1890 Land-Grant Institutions. These Centers were initially established in 2015, commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Second Morrill Act of 1890. The primary purpose of this funding is to achieve specific objectives crucial for rural advancement and STEM diversity. It seeks to increase profitability and foster rural prosperity, particularly within underserved farming communities. Furthermore, the grant will address vital needs for improved international training and development, while also significantly boosting diversity within the science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and mathematics (STEAM) pipeline. This initiative plays a key role in empowering these institutions to drive agricultural innovation and community development.
