The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is offering this grant to continue its Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program (SRP) Centers. This grant supports problem-based, solution-oriented research centers with integrated projects spanning biomedical and environmental science and engineering. Projects aim to develop advanced techniques for detecting, assessing, and evaluating the effects of hazardous substances on human health, and methods to assess associated risks. The program also focuses on new technologies for detecting hazardous substances in the environment and basic biological, chemical, and physical methods to reduce their amount and toxicity. Cores support administration, data, community engagement, and training.
