The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), a part of NIH, is offering this Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant (R21). This grant is for the purpose of investigating the role of epigenetic processes at key points during normal and/or pathological embryonic, fetal, childhood, adolescent, and reproductive development, areas relevant to NICHD’s mission. Projects should focus on epigenetic processes or changes in epigenetic marks associated with, causing, or resulting from attaining a developmental milestone. Comparisons of epigenetic states between distinct developmental stages or between normal and perturbed development are encouraged to elucidate underlying mechanisms. NICHD intends to commit $1.2 million in total costs in FY2010 to fund up to six applications.
