The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is offering a cooperative agreement grant to administer the 2012 Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies (CSLLEA2012). This grant is for establishing a partnership with a collection agent to undertake key activities. These activities include researching, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive national roster of all publicly funded law enforcement agencies across the U.S., alongside the crucial task of conducting thorough data collection. The primary purpose of the information gathered through this census is to create a vital sampling framework, which will be instrumental in supporting subsequent BJS law enforcement programs and various surveys conducted by law enforcement organizations and the broader research community. This initiative is authorized under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.
