This NIDDK grant is for investigators seeking access to valuable non-renewable samples from the NIDDK Central Repositories. These repositories contain extensive samples and data from numerous major clinical studies. The purpose of this opportunity is to enable researchers to utilize these unique resources for their studies. Applicants must first confirm sample availability directly with the NIDDK Central Repositories. While this grant facilitates access to critical biological materials, it does not provide monetary funding; the X01 mechanism signifies sample access only. Samples from specific studies like DPT-1, EDIC, and DPP are excluded from this particular solicitation until November 1, 2010. Awards are contingent upon the scientific merit of the application and the requested samples’ availability.
