Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD: This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s (NPS) intention to fund Mississippi River Trails, Inc Summer of Paddling and Mississippi River Communication Package Project.

Summer of Paddling project consists of purchasing the materials needed to host a series of paddling tours, water trail dedications, and other park events focused on getting people outside, increasing awareness of recreational opportunities and natural resources along the Mississippi River.

The Mississippi River Communications Package is an educational packet designed to assist communities with improving local marketing for community based, long distance trails used as an economic building tool. The package also would provide information about national park units, wildlife refuges, state parks, and other natural/cultural public sites enhancing local connections with these facilities. The package will create a Mississippi River Connections website, will promote and illustrate the need for River communities to collaborate to protect resources and cultures, and will improve outreach marketing.

The National Park Service will be substantially involved in fulfilling the tasks and objectives of the project. Click on the above full announcement link for single source determination according to 505 DM 2.14 B(4), Unique Qualifications.
