The National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) is offering this grant to support the comprehensive photographic documentation of historic sites, contributing to the objectives of the National Historic Preservation Act. This grant is for experienced photographers and documentarians to undertake on-site large-format photography, develop and process films to produce negatives, and scan these negatives to create archival “contact” prints. A crucial component involves compiling an Index to Photographs for each site and meticulously preparing all prints, negatives, and associated materials for transmittal to the Library of Congress. All work must strictly adhere to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and guidelines for HABS/HAER/HALS photographic documentation, ensuring high-quality historical preservation records.
