The National Park Service (NPS) and the Organization of American Historians (OAH) are jointly offering this grant to advance the study and interpretation of history. This grant is for the purpose of selecting, in consultation with NPS, a historian or group of historians to develop and deliver essential briefings and training sessions. These sessions will orient NPS staff and partners to effective historical study methods, context, processes, and recommendations. Furthermore, the selected OAH consultant historians will be responsible for compiling valuable feedback from staff and partners. This feedback will be crucial in improving history interpretation across NPS initiatives, with a written summary of comments provided to the NPS. This collaboration aims to significantly enhance the quality and depth of historical understanding within the service.
