Description: Through this program, OJJDP seeks to identify a provider to serve the Missing and Exploited
Children Program through a variety of services and program support. Authorized by the Missing
Children=s Assistance Act of 1984, the Missing and Exploited Children (MEC) Program is the
primary vehicle for building an infrastructure to support the national effort to prevent the
abduction and exploitation of children. This program is authorized under Section 405 of Title IV of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended.
