The Department of State’s Office of Export Control Cooperation (ISN/ECC) is offering a grant opportunity to enhance strategic trade control within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). This grant is for not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, and PIOs to collaborate with CARICOM officials and members. The primary purpose is to conduct a gap analysis of existing CARICOM members’ strategic trade control laws in the context of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1540 implementation. Following this analysis, the recipient will work with international partners, including the UNODC and IAEA, to assist CARICOM in developing a Reference Legal Framework. This framework aims to establish a region-wide strategic trade control system meeting internationally-accepted standards and help members fulfill their UNSCR 1540 obligations. Approximately $400,000 is available for this project.
