The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is offering this grant to advance alcohol health services research. This grant is for the primary purpose of closing the significant treatment gap for individuals with alcohol use disorder (AUD). Research proposals should focus on one or more of five key areas: increasing access to AUD treatment, making treatment more appealing, examining cost structures and insurance systems, studying the dissemination and implementation of existing evidence-based AUD treatment approaches, and reducing health disparities to address the treatment gap in health disparity populations. The overarching goal is to improve the availability and effectiveness of AUD care for all.
