The USAID Caucasus in Georgia is designing a new activity, the New Economic Opportunities Initiative, aimed at fostering sustainable development in rural areas. This grant seeks to significantly improve rural incomes and reduce poverty levels across Georgia. A key focus is enhancing food security and addressing critical, small-scale household and agricultural water constraints in targeted communities. Furthermore, the initiative will enable internally displaced persons (IDP) communities to sustainably maintain their households and assist communities distressed by natural or other disasters to plan for and recover from economic shocks. This comprehensive effort targets holistic socio-economic improvement.
