The Service proposes to provide financial assistance in helping maintain progress on ongoing efforts to conserve a list of priority species (Focal Species) as designated by the Services Migratory Bird Program. Many of these species require research due to a lack of basic biological information. Others are currently being monitored but require additional efforts to establish current population trends. Period of performance is from date of the award to December 31, 2015. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505DM2, paragraph 2.14 (B) (2) is solely within the discretion of the Fish and Wildlife Service.
