The CDFI Fund offers the Fiscal Year 2013 CDFI Program to support Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). This grant provides two main forms of assistance: Financial Assistance (FA) awards and Technical Assistance (TA) grants. FA is intended for CDFIs with comprehensive business plans, enabling them to create demonstrable community development impact through the deployment of credit, capital, and financial services in their target markets or by expanding into new investment areas and underserved populations. TA grants are provided to CDFIs and entities aspiring to become certified CDFIs. This assistance helps build their capacity, allowing them to better address community development and capital access needs, expand their reach, and achieve certification.
