Description:: Pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended (FAA), the United States Government (USG), as represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), is seeking to support or stimulate the activities described in this Annual Program Statement (APS).OFDA’s mandate is to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of disasters worldwide. As part of USAID/OFDA’s strategy for Sudan, USAID/OFDA seeks to establish a rapid response funding mechanism with stand-by capacity, whereby international and local organizations will be supported to respond to acute humanitarian needs stemming from disasters and localized emergencies through timely, short-term, quick-impact and effective interventions as emergencies occur over the duration of this award. The rapid response funding mechanism is not intended to address chronic poverty or long-term needs.See full APS announcement for further details.
