Additional Information on Eligibility: Applicants are limited to eligible State Administering Agencies (SAAs) for states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico that failed to substantially implement the SORNA portion of the Adam Walsh Act (34 U.S.C. § 20901, et seq.) and requested to use 10 percent of Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funds to work toward compliance. The list of eligible SAAs and award amounts can be found in Appendix B. ­­­­-­­­­-­­­­-­­­­-­­­­-

All recipients and subrecipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.

The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 is designed to protect children and adults from sexual exploitation and violent crime, prevent child abuse and child pornography, promote internet safety, and honor the memory of Adam Walsh and other crime victims. The Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act was enacted to protect the public from convicted sex offenders by establishing a comprehensive, national system for the registration of and notification about those offenders.

Statutory Authority: This program is authorized pursuant to 34 U.S.C. 10151, et seq.; 34 U.S.C. ยง 20927(c).
