The National Park Service (NPS) offers the African American Civil Rights Network (AACRN) Preservation Grant, part of its African American Civil Rights Grant Program. This grant aims to document, interpret, and preserve sites and stories significant to the full history of the African American struggle for equal rights, from the transatlantic slave trade forward. Funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), these competitive grants support diverse preservation projects including architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and physical restoration. Projects should align with the NPS 2008 report, ‘Civil Rights in America.’ No non-Federal match is required; $5 million is available for AACRN Preservation projects.
