This grant, offered by the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for Oregon and Washington (ORWA), provides funding for Fiscal Year 2024 through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). It supports essential cultural heritage and paleontology programs within the ORWA region. The primary purpose is to ensure the effective management, preservation, and study of significant cultural and paleontological resources located on BLM-managed lands. This includes activities such as resource inventory, assessment, protection, interpretation, and restoration efforts. The funding aims to enhance the stewardship of these irreplaceable assets, contributing to their long-term conservation and public understanding. This grant is for entities involved in safeguarding and advancing understanding of historical and prehistoric artifacts and fossil discoveries across designated federal lands.
