This grant, offered by the Department of the Interior – Bureau of Land Management Alaska, is specifically designed to support the comprehensive management of invasive and noxious plants across the Alaskan landscape. Leveraging funds from initiatives like IIJA/IRA, the program aims to mitigate the ecological and economic damage caused by these detrimental species. The primary purpose is to fund projects that control, prevent, and eradicate non-native invasive vegetation, thereby preserving Alaska’s native biodiversity, restoring habitats, and maintaining the health of its unique ecosystems. Eligible activities may include surveys, early detection, rapid response, control measures, restoration efforts, and public awareness campaigns to ensure the long-term ecological integrity of public lands.
