The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is offering this grant to fund comprehensive training activities under cooperative agreements. This initiative is designed to significantly improve and standardize the quality of counseling services provided by housing counselors. The training targets counselors employed by “participating agencies,” which include all housing counseling and intermediary organizations actively involved in HUD’s Housing Counseling Program. This encompasses HUD-approved agencies, affiliates and branches of HUD-approved intermediaries, HUD-approved multi-state organizations, and state housing finance agencies. This grant is for the purpose of elevating the professional standards and consistency of housing counseling nationwide.
