Description: Purpose. The National Eye Institute (NEI) supports investigator-initiated clinical vision research projects, including clinical trials and large-scale epidemiologic studies in vision research. The intent of this funding opportunity announcement is to provide a framework for applicants proposing clinical vision research projects, including clinical trials and epidemiological studies. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the National Institutes of Health (NIH) cooperative agreement (U10) grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary.
