This USAID grant supports the Government of Tanzania in enhancing child health and strengthening the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s (MoHSW) capacity. It aims to improve diagnostic and treatment services for malaria and other severe febrile illnesses in children under five. The initiative will also strengthen linkages with community-based child health promotion programs, particularly those serving orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). Initially targeting three high-burden regions in Tanzania’s Lake Zone, the project seeks to reduce under-five mortality. This effort contributes to the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and joint USAID child health programming.
