The Fair Housing Department is offering the Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP) grant to advance fair housing through enforcement, education, and organizational capacity building.
This grant is for the purpose of advancing fair housing rights and combating discrimination under the Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Initiative Program (FHIP) offers funding across three core initiatives. The Private Enforcement Initiative (PEI) supports private, non-profit organizations in investigating and enforcing alleged fair housing violations. The Education and Outreach Initiative (EOI) provides resources for organizations to inform the general public about their housing rights and obligations. Lastly, the Fair Housing Organization Initiative (FHOI) aims to establish new fair housing enforcement entities and strengthen existing ones, enhancing their capacity to uphold anti-discrimination prohibitions. This comprehensive program seeks to ensure equitable housing opportunities nationwide for all citizens.
Jun 11, 2013 HUD may modify the due date for this Notice to the extent a final appropriations bill for FY 2013 is enacted. HUD will issue a technical correction to the NOFA if appropriations are enacted that require HUD to modify the funding criteria or applicant requirements or if HUD determines that adjustments to estimated timelines are necessary. Any such technical correction will provide detailed instructions for applicants to permit them to resubmit the application to address the revised NOFA requirements.
