This NIDDK grant is for research focused on understanding and reducing health disparities across a range of high-priority diseases within its scientific mission areas. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the NIH seeks proposals to uncover the causes of health disparities and develop effective interventions. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to, diabetes, obesity, nutrition-related disorders, hepatitis C, gallbladder disease, H. Pylori infection, sickle cell disease, kidney diseases, urologic diseases, and various hematologic, metabolic, gastrointestinal, hepatic, and renal complications, especially those stemming from HIV infection.
