This grant is for assessing the crucial effects of both management practices and climate on habitat and invertebrate communities over time and across various spatial scales. The project aims to determine precisely how these environmental factors impact insectivorous bird, mammal, and fish species, which rely heavily on insects for their reproduction and overall survival. The insights gained from this work are vital for developing and implementing effective resource management strategies. Ultimately, this will enable the refuge to successfully achieve its detailed goals for different habitats, as described in its Comprehensive Conservation Plan, ensuring long-term ecological balance and biodiversity.
