Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research into the review of carbon policies across the nation. This will help in identifying and evaluating successful carbon sequestration, mitigation strategies, costs, and linkages. The recipient will examine national policy analyses of ecological carbon sequestration and Green House Gas (GHG) emission reduction, propose definitions and quantifications of (ecological) suitability and (economic) availability of mitigation strategies, compile data sources used by FASON-GHG and extract regional mitigation strategy costs information, and identify potential linkages between the assessment results and the FASOM-GHG model. Green House Gas emissions have been identified as a potential cause of climate changed. This research will lead to a better understanding of cause/effect and if any linkages between the two exist.
