This grant is awarded to the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AGFD) to continue critical efforts in protecting and recovering the federally-listed Gila Chub and Northern Mexican Gartersnake. The project aims to establish long-term suitable habitat and safeguard existing populations by constructing a fish passage barrier and removing invasive Green Sunfish in Indian Creek. AGFD’s extensive experience and direct involvement are essential for project success. Specific tasks include conducting a site survey for the proposed fish screen, researching and developing multiple design alternatives, creating final design plans with quantity and cost estimates, and submitting these plans for review and implementation.
