The EHR Core Research (ECR) program, established by the Directorate for Education and Human Resources, provides funding for foundational research. This grant aims to synthesize, build, and expand research foundations in critical STEM areas. It seeks proposals addressing STEM learning, STEM learning environments, workforce development, and broadening participation in STEM. Researchers are encouraged to identify and conduct studies that advance the general improvement of STEM learning or tackle specific, important challenges. Two types of proposals are invited: Core Research Proposals, offering up to $1.5 million over five years for foundational questions informing STEM education transformation, and Capacity Building Proposals, providing up to $300,000 over three years to support groundwork necessary for advancing research within the four core areas.
