Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS Sea-level Rise Hazards and Decision Support Project is a five year effort focused initially on the Delmarva Peninsula and Assateague Island National Seashore. This project will investigate the interactions of geologic framework, shoreline change, and hydrogeology driving coastal and habitat change using geophysical surveys, oceanographic studies, and predictive models.

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity for field studies to assist in core and geophysical data collection, and for the development of syntheses of existing geophysical data in the Seashore. Field assistance includes collecting samples during coring operations within the Seashore, including description and subsampling of geologic materials for later analysis using sedimentologic and radiochronologic methods. Technical assistance to provide a synthesis of existing geophysical data (well logs, ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistivity) relevant to characterizing the hydrogeologic framework of the Seashore.
