Additional Information on Eligibility: 1. Eligible Applicants 
Applicants must be YALI alumni, teams of two YALI alumni and alumni associations. Not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions are not eligible to apply in the name of the organization but can serve as partners for implementing project activities.
2. Cost Sharing or Matching 
Cost-sharing is not required. 
3. Other Eligibility Requirements 
An alum, alumni or alumni association is allowed to only submit one proposal.  If more than one
proposal is submitted by an alum or alumni association all proposals from that alum or association
will be considered ineligible for funding.

Description:

The Small Grant Opportunity for Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Alumni provides YALI alumni with funding to expand on skills gained during their exchange experience to design and implement innovative solutions to challenges facing their community. Proposals should support themes like

• Strengthen Democratic Institutions and Expand Human Rights

• Spur Broad-based Economic Growth and Promote Development

• Advance Regional Peace and Security

• Public Health Interested alumni must be able to demonstrate their capacity to receive and manage grant funding.

Additionally, all proposals submitted MUST include a contingency plan in the event of lingering COVID19 health restrictions.
