USDA/FAS Faculty Exchange Grant for Southeast Asian Veterinary Sciences

The USDA/FAS is offering this grant to support a Faculty Exchange Program focused on veterinary sciences in Southeast Asia. This grant is for the purpose of enhancing the skills and knowledge of university professors in veterinary science and medicine from priority countries including the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The program will fund the design and delivery of training activities in the United States, in collaboration with U.S. universities and government agencies. Participants will gain exposure to improved courses, updated curricula, advanced teaching methods, current research techniques, and practical field experiences. Description:	This program will support the design and delivery of training activities that include a mixed cohort of university professors in the veterinary science and medicine field from one or more of the following countries (the priority countries for this NOFO): the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Training programs are designed and organized in conjunction with U.S. universities, USDA/FAS, and other government agencies. The FEP emphasizes the development of improved and updated courses and curricula, teaching and student assessment methods, exposure to current research techniques, and practical field experiences while the Fellows study in the United States. In addition, the FEP includes follow-up visits by U.S. host professors (the Mentors) to their Fellow’s home country.
