This grant, offered by the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management New Mexico (BLM NM), is specifically for the management and control of invasive and noxious plant species across BLM-managed lands within New Mexico. The purpose is to protect and restore native ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and preserve the ecological integrity of the state’s natural landscapes. Leveraging funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for Fiscal Year 2024, the program supports a range of activities including prevention, early detection, rapid response, and active eradication efforts. This initiative aims to mitigate the environmental and economic damage caused by non-native invasive plants, ensuring the long-term health and sustainability of public lands and supporting local conservation efforts.
