The NMFS-Sea Grant program is offering prestigious PhD fellowships in Marine Resource Economics. This grant annually awards approximately two new fellowships to doctoral students. The primary purpose of this grant is to support individuals keen on developing and implementing quantitative methods for assessing the economics of conserving and managing living marine resources. Fellows will undertake thesis research focusing on problems of significant public interest and direct relevance to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). They will benefit from the expert guidance of NMFS mentors located at participating Science Centers or Laboratories. This fellowship directly contributes to NOAA’s mission goal of protecting, restoring, and effectively managing the use of coastal and ocean resources through comprehensive ecosystem-based management.
