Description: The Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) is an applied science and conservation partnership that supports the strategic, science-based conservation of natural and cultural resources in the Mojave, Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts and the montane “sky islands” within this region in the U.S. and Mexico; see http://www.usbr.gov/dlcc/resources/map.cfm for a map of the Desert LCC geographic area. On behalf of the Desert LCC, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is soliciting proposals for applied scientific work to inform resource management decisions that address landscape-scale stressors. The Desert LCC anticipates awarding up to $350,000 in grants and/or cooperative agreements to support projects that address aspects of the Critical Management Questions described below through new applied science or science-based decision support tools.
