This grant is for the purpose of supporting Centers of Excellence (COEs) at 1890 Land-Grant Institutions. Established in 2015, these COEs aim to address critical needs within underserved communities and the broader agricultural landscape. Specifically, the program seeks to increase profitability and rural prosperity for farming communities, enhance international training and development opportunities, and foster greater diversity within the science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and mathematics (STEAM) fields. The initiative aligns with the legacy of the Second Morrill Act of 1890, continuing its mission to empower institutions dedicated to agricultural and technical education, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and prosperous future.
