This grant, offered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to enhance the capacity of rural housing organizations, Community Development Corporations, local governments, and Indian tribes. Its purpose is to bolster their ability to undertake critical affordable housing and community development activities benefiting low- and moderate-income families in rural areas. The program achieves this by funding National Organizations with expertise in rural development, who then provide direct capacity-building support. Eligible activities include strengthening organizational infrastructure, management, and governance capabilities through training, education, and technical assistance. This encompasses strategic planning, technological improvements, stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive resource planning, ultimately fostering more effective and sustainable rural community efforts.
