Description: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a cooperative agreement Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) # 3FC810873) to University of California, Davis, under the authority of catalog for domestic assistance (CFDA) 15.512, Central Valley Project Improvement Act, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(1). Estimated award date: August 31, 2010. Estimated amount: $529,691.00. Reclamation proposes to provide financial assistance to determine which factors (water temperature, salinity, type and density of aquatic vegetation, proximity to infrastructure, etc.) control the abundance and distribution of predators (largemouth bass) in the Delta and which habitat factors control the abundance and distribution of the native splittail, a possible candidate for listing under the Federal and State Endangered Species acts. (Refer to Notice of Intent to Award announcement no. R10AS20032 for additional information.)

A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
